Children everywhere are getting inspired by Ben's story. Your school, your library or your group, can also have Ben as a young author to share his story with the children and inspire other young talent.
"Ben was low key and down to earth but had all the right answers in terms of the kind of message we want our kids to be getting about writing and how to make it sound ‘doable’. He kind of made writing ‘cool’ which is what we are trying to get across particularly to our boys." Tatia Downer - Team Leader Year 5 and 6 - Kena Kena School, Kapiti Coat
Thanks to the following schools for having us recently: Raumati Beach School, Waikanae School, Kapanui School, Te Horo School, Kapiti Primary School, Te Ra School, Paraparaumu Beach School, Kena Kena School, Churton School, Durie Hill School, St John's Hill School, Boulcott School
We've been overwhelmed with all the requests from schools for Ben to talk about his book. However, as much as we would love for Ben to attend all of these, he is still a school child and cannot miss his school days. With this in mind, Ben's mum and founder of Spies Publishing, Renata Spies, developed a program where she visits schools and shares her experience of publishing Ben's books. She also talks about how she has nurtured and motivated him to keep writing. Children will also watch a video of Ben himself giving some writing tips and answering previously arranged questions. This is a great opportunity for your students to relate to a young author and be inspired like many others have been. Contact us for more info.
