This book is about a Magic Pencil that makes drawings come to life. The main character is Bob who finds a Magic Pencil on his way to school one day. Bob meets an Old Man in a sewer, after he has been chased down there by the 'Fakeys' - Fake Police, and the Old Man tells Bob that there used to be more than one Magic Pencil. The other four Magic Pencils got into the hands of bad, greedy and selfish people . The Magic Pencils cursed these four people but in doing so the Magic Pencils were destroyed. There is now only one Magic Pencil left.
The Old Man has a Rocket and they have many adventures in the past and in the future. They get to these places via a wormhole in space.
I really enjoyed the book as it was very funny. Once I started to read The Magic Pencil I could not put it down as I wanted to find out what happened next.
Boys and Girls will both like this book. It is a chapter book with lots of fun pictures. I would recommend this book to my friends.
The Epilogue ends with 'Bob knew that soon another adventure would start........... Another adventure with the Magic Pencil.' I really hope that Ben writes another Magic Pencil book as he has an awesome imagination and I can't wait to find out what happens next!!!
